Surgery Day (Mon, May 2, 2011) - I came home from the hospital and I was exhausted and I still had the pain blocker in my system so I didn't feel too much pain in my knee. I slept most of the day bc the Vicodin and the Motrin knocked my ass out but I still got up and walked around on my crutches.
Day 2 (Tues) - I didn't take the day off of work so I got up, got Aubrey ready for school and J had to take her because I obviously can't drive. I worked for the first half of the day but then I took my meds and I was falling asleep at my computer so I took the afternoon off. My mom came over to help me with Aubrey and I pretty much slept the day away.
Day 3 (Wed) - I took a shower!!! Showering was difficult to say the least. Same as day 2. I worked and then after work I took about a 3 hour nap. SLEEPY!!
Day 4 (Thurs) - Oh no! It's Physical Therapy Day! I went to K before my surgery so I was excited to get there and see what he had to say and for him to tell me my timeline. He told my more info that what my Dr. told me after surgery. They took 2 inches of my hamstring ligament to repair my ACL. That's why I have so much pain under my knee in addition to my knee (like someone is stabbing me type of pain). He also said that I should still be using my crutches for another week with my brace in locked position.
He did shock therapy on my quad muscle. That stung like crazy!
He gave me 4 home exercises to do. Heel Slides. Straight Leg Raises. Ankle Pumps. Quad Sets. I can do the ankle pumps. That's it. I can't bend my knee on the heel slides. Straight Leg Raises are a joke. I can't life my leg even if my life depended on it. My quad muscle is complete mush.
Day 5 (Fri) - I haven't had a lot of pain, just where they took my hamstring ligament. I've been walking with my crutches and putting weight onto my right leg. I've been doing my exercises but no such luck.
Day 6 (Sat) - Another session of PT. My hamstring has been really bothering me and K tried to put me on the Nu Step machine but it hurt so bad that I started crying. Yes. Like a baby. They added three hip exercises and two out of the were ok. The one where had to kick my leg out front, KILLED. I felt like a failure today.
I know that it's going to take time but it's frustrating that I can't do the exercises.
Day 7 (Sun) - Same as day 5.
